Our Legal Framework

The council is bound by legal constraints set out in the the Local Government Act 1972.

Goudhurst Parish Council operate using a set of Standing Orders which set out a framework used to manage all of our meetings and the activities of our committees.

Our income comes from a ‘Precept’ which is a levied by the borough council as a part of council tax. The council is also bound by a set of Financial Regulations which set out how we report and manage the finances of the Parish Council. Our Accounts are published annually.

All councillors have to set out their financial interests and there with each member setting out a Declaration of Pecuniary Interests.

Al of the activities of the council are covered by insurance and these are the Insurance Documents.
